Leaving from Nîmes (about 56 km, slightly less than an hour's drive). From the airport in Nîmes, head towards 'Centre Ville' (town center'), then follow the boulevard circling around the town ('boulevard périphérique') to the N 106 and take the D 999 in the direction of Quissac. At the traffic circle situated immediately before the entrance to Quissac (33 km from Nîmes), turn left onto the D 45 in the direction of Corconne and Montpellier. 11 km further down, turn right off this road onto the D 107 in the direction of Claret, Les Embruscalles.
The climb up to the plateau de l’Orthus is made on a winding route (that also is quite narrow!) until you reach the crossroad that intersects with the D 107 E 4. Take a sharp left in the direction of Ferrières les Verreries.
At the next crossroad, (with the D 17 E 6), continue straight in the direction of Ferrières les Verreries until you reach MAS de BAUMES.Welcome, you have arrived! |
Leaving from Montpellier (about 40 km, a 45 minute drive). From the airport Montpellier – Méditerranée, head in the direction of 'Montpellier Centre' (town center), then take the direction Castelnau le Lez Centre, and pass through the town.
As you exit from Castelnau, follow the direction Clapiers, Montpellier. Then follow directions for Quissac, Prades, Saint Mathieu de Tréviers (on the D 17 ).
At the traffic circle at the far end of Saint-Mathieu-de-Tréviers, head in the direction of Valflaunés, Quissac and continue along the D 17 for about 3 km. Leave the D 17 by turning left and take the D 17 E 6 in the direction of Pompignan, Saint-Hippolyte du Fort.
The route, narrow and winding, climbs up to the plateau. Once on the plateau, turn right in the direction of Ferrières les Verreries, Pompignan and continue to follow the D 17 E 6.6 km further, turn left onto the D 107 E 4 (Chemin des Verriers) in the direction of Ferrières les Verreries, until you reach MAS de BAUMES.Welcome, you have arrived!
